3D Motion Sketchbook

This was my first full 3D project. I made it over the length of a semester in Spring of 2021. Each shot explores new motion concepts and Cinema 4D mechanisms. I paid close attention to cuts within the scenes, employing concepts like ‘cut on action’, ‘match cut’, and ‘jump cut’.

Effectors and rigid body simulations make up most of the effects. Cinema 4D has very intuitive systems which allowed for more exploration in the look and motion of the shots.

I also explored textures and lighting, varying the parameters of the default bsdf surface for each object. Although many of the scenes use hdri textures for lighting, spotlights, point lights, and emission textures were also used to create cinematic environments.
