Music Driven Cell Division

This project was a proof of concept for an application to a medical visualization studio. The project focused on implementing music to drive a vellum simulation.

The simulation itself uses a method I learned from Tim van Helsdingen’s Houdini.School course “BUILD YOUR BRAIN - Cell Division in Houdini”.

I used chops to extract beats from the song Fumizono by Kogane. Then with that signal I was able to trigger the division event in the simulation.

Given the rapid increase in geometry from the simulation I only kept one channel of the music for creating the trigger signal for this demo.
